The key to the system is:
0 = Z or s. It is the first sound of the word ZERO.
1 = d or t (note the similarity - one down stroke).
2 = n (two down strokes)
3 = m (three down strokes)
4 = r (fourrrrr)
5 = Show five with your hand = Note the capital L made by your hand
6 = j or CH sound
7 = K (note the " k" is made up of sevens
8 = f (when written in cursive or long hand it has two loops resembling an eight)
9 = b
